In The Beginning, Where It All Starts
Once upon a time there was a garden, a beautiful, impeccably manicured garden. A garden so lush, that each of your 5 senses came alive, just by walking through the garden. The morning dew delivered the necessary moisture that kept the garden so vibrant and colorful. It never rained in the garden. The sounds of the myriad of birds and animals brought with it an expectancy that everything was going to be good. There was no fear in the garden, no sadness, bitterness, grief, revenge, hurt, sickness, stress, poverty, gossip. There was only peace and joy, abundant joy. Happiness did not exist in this garden, as happiness was only fleeting anyway. A very temporary band aid to mask the hurt of the injury or emptiness. The aroma of Joy, real Joy, filled the air, and seemed to drip from the fronds of the plants and trees. One felt empowered, strong, confident, safe, secure as the entrance to the garden drew near. It was difficult to leave this garden, as the energy of the garden was so addicting. It was truly a place of perfect peace, something that the soul longed for.
In the garden was the master gardener. This garden was gifted to him from his Benefactor. He was an accomplished gardener, able to identify all the species within the garden, actually had the heartbeat of the garden life beating in his ear. He knew exactly when something was needed, and what was needed. He spoke with the animals, and communed with the great Nature that was all around him. The fruit was full and ripe, seemingly all the time. The plants and vegetables produced in abundance after their own kind every season. There was literally no place on earth like this Garden.
The Benefactor was wise. He knew the needs of the gardener. He knew the physical makeup of the gardener. He knew what it would take to sustain the gardener. The pheromones and endorphins bursting from the plant life sent feelings of exhilaration through the gardener’s being on a moment by moment basis. The gardener knew there was no place like this garden. He planned to live here for the rest of his long life.
There was something missing from this garden. The Benefactor was preparing His best gift yet to present to the gardener. How the gardener needed this gift, as he was truly unprepared to continue successfully without it. The gardener was lonely. He had no one to have conversation with, no one to share his thoughts, desires, dreams, and emotions with. He was a man, not a boy. He had long ago put away childish things, and was needing intimacy over instant gratification, substance over style. He was emotionally empty, mentally unchallenged, spiritually lacking. He had worked hard to make the garden beautiful, long hours spent lifting, bending, digging, building his physique in a similar manner to building the garden. He was in great shape, 5% body fat, strong, healthy, aerobic, flexible, great muscular definition. He worked hard to stay healthy and fit, realizing that being overweight and out of shape would shorten his life, and curtail his enjoyment of all that the Benefactor had given him.
The Garden was beautiful, the birds and animals were breathtaking, the Creation was singing. All was perfect in this garden. The plants, trees, water, grass and even the air was heavenly. Nothing was out of place in the garden. Idyllic, to be sure.
The gardener had his flaws. He was always losing his keys, burning his meals, fished alone, never made his bed, cleaning the house was unimportant to him, he would like to have been more organized, and most of all he had this great desire inside of his heart and soul that he wanted to care for someone, share intimacy with someone, worship someone, he truly wanted to be a hero to someone. He had the heart of a giver, but, there was no one to share with, no one to give to……….
The Benefactor, on the other hand, was wise, a great Creator, a Sculptor, an Artiste, like no other. He knew the needs of the gardener better than the gardener himself. He realized that the gardener needed, wanted, desired to be fulfilled and could not be on his own. The gardener, as wonderful as he was, as smart, as charming, as shrewd, as independent, as resourceful, still needed help.
(In the Hebrew language, the word “helper” was compared to a life preserver that was thrown to someone who was drowning. In a normal world the individual was greater than the life preserver, after all, it is only a life preserver. However, when the life preserver is needed, it becomes greater than the one whose very life it is saving. This is where our story changes direction.)
One day the Benefactor summoned the gardener to the epicenter of the garden. The drum roll was beginning in the background, faintly at first, almost unnoticeable. The Benefactor loved the gardener unconditionally. He had painstaking created, sculpted, and fine tuned his most spectacular creation yet, his greatest achievement was about to be unveiled to the gardener. The drum roll was now more distinct. A great silence fell over the garden, as the animals and insects were motionless as they witnessed this great unveiling. The waters had stopped, the breezes had diminished, expectancy was in the air. Legend has it that even a dropped pin was heard that day deep in the garden……
The Benefactor was about to present a life preserver to the gardener. His life was about to become easier, more fulfilled than he could ever imagine. The needs that he was aware of and even shortcomings that he had no knowledge of would be fulfilled before this day was done…..In short, the great gardener, the testosterone filled, ego-centric gardener needed a helper.
The drum roll is now rippling the skin of the gardener. He has no idea what the Benefactor is about go bestow on him. Could it be a Lamborghini, a Sea Ray yacht, a major sports franchise, maybe a high rise condo project in Miami or a fantastic stock portfolio. Yes that must be it, he mused. He needed those things…..or so he thought.
The unveiling began slowly, as all eyes were fixated on the epicenter, and the activity. The Benefactor was removing the covering from his gift. The beauty that radiated from this gift was something to behold. The Benefactor breathed His life into this gift, and it became alive, (drum roll has reached a crescendo) eyes blinking, fingers moving, skin appearing golden in the afternoon sun. This creation was beyond magnificent.
It was the Benefactor’s last creation, as he wanted to save his best work for His grand finale. The gardener could not take his eyes off of this creature, staring at the curves, the proportions, the beauty, the femininity. He marveled at the sight, drinking in the feelings, the desire to touch this creation. He had never seen anything like this in his life and was unsure what to do next. His touch was gentle, sensitive, soft, starting at the feet and working all the way up to the head, he touched every inch, lingering at some places more than others. He loved her hair as he ran his fingers through it, over and over, enjoying the texture and softness. She was not to be compared to anything the world has ever seen. The gardener stepped back, overcome with emotion at the beauty, tears in his eyes. He turned to the Benefactor and screamed out for all to hear…. Whooaaaa maaannn.!!!!!
The Benefactor spoke next and looked into the eyes of the gardener. Remember, son, these words, through the ages to come. You have truly spoken, because this is WO-MAN. She is your helper, your life preserver, to save your life. She will be willing to give you her heart, and her soul and her body. She will desire you more than life itself. She will expect to be in relationship with you, as your one and only. She will be the desire of your heart. You will love her, cherish her, treat her like a queen at all times. You will desire her mind, her body and her heart. She will respond to you. She will respond to you kindness and gentleness and she will also respond to your anger and rejection. Listen to her, love her, protect her, and she will bloom like a flower for you to enjoy. Your assignment is to love her, her assignment is to respect you. Do not break her heart, do not steal that which is most precious. I created her to respond to you. You will continue to tend the garden, as that is your focus, but she will tend to you as that is her focus. Give her what she needs and give her what she craves. She wants your heart. Follow my example and you will know her needs and will be able to fill them.
Enjoy the gift, my son, as she is the best that I can offer. There is none better.
